- Deborah Walker, MHS and Duaine Johnson founded

Our History
Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
Overview
D & D Interfaith Connection (DDIC) is built on the premise that we can all play an integral role in eliminating homelessness in the United States and beyond. We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
Mission
D & D Interfaith Connection focuses on feeding the homeless/hungry, homeless prevention, working directly with homeless veterans and youth as well as individuals/families that are currently living in shelters ensuring appropriate services are available and attainable. Through the collaborative efforts of DDIC staff, city, state and federal agencies, as well as local community agencies (faith=based, health, education, and etc,) our goal is to provide a caring motivating environment that supports individuals and families in identifying permanent sustainable housing while pursuing additional supportive services that enhance their lives.

Warm comfy socks will be collected for our veterans that are sick and shut-in in institutions like the VA hospitals, nursing homes and etc. Socks will be dropped off in time for the holiday season to hopefully bring a bit of cheer. Multicultural Book Drive
Holiday "SOCKS FOR VETS"
Holiday "SOCKS FOR VETS"
We seek to provide multicultural books for children in Pre-K thru 8th grade living in temporary housing in New York City. The books are generally distributed prior to extended school breaks to ensure children have access to reading materials during their time away from school. We hope to expand their knowledge and appreciation of the different cultures of the world as well as enhance their knowledge of their own culture and those around them.

Care packages filled with ready to eat items, cold weather necessities (hats, gloves, scarves, socks, etc.) personal items (combs, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, disposable wipes, etc.). Care packages are distributed during winter months in areas frequented by individuals that may benefit.
